Last Thursday I treated myself to a new hair colour. After 4 hours in the chair and paying over $200 I was faced with the awkward moment when you leave the salon with not the perfect hair. Do you say something or hope that after a few washes it looks more like what you had in mind?!
Well I went home with the hopes that after I washed it the toner would lighten and the lighter ends would be more noticeable. But alas I arrived into work today and noone even noticed I had my hair done!
This is what the colour is supposed to resemble and this is what I have:

A beautiful warm ombre colour through the ends it what I invisiged. I said to my hairdresser that I did not want bleach blonde ends, that I wanted a gradual colour up it and for the toner to be a warm auburn. What I got was a half head of foils in the bottom half, a bleach bath for the tips and a permanent hair color on the top (which is nice, it is natural and warm). You can't see any of the light ends when I wear it down or up - and so I faced the tough decission about whether to go back and get them to fix it for free. Would it insult the girl who did it? Will they bitch and moan about me? Am I being pedantic?

Thankfully I have some great friends who were able to reassure me that I certainly should go back and get it fixed that it was not noticeable and I had spent $$$ on it so it needed to be right. The instagram filter makes the colour stand out a little bit more but you really can't see much of the ombre/light tips.
So I got the courage up and rang the salon. They were closed but there was a lovely girl in doing the stock-take and she booked me in for Thursday evening for them to fix it free of charge and said it was no problem at all that they want me to be happy after all the money it cost.
PHEWWWW and YAY!
Now I can't wait!
Have you ever had a bad hair doo and gone back to get it fixed or did you just walk away un-happy?
i've had a similar experience with hair cuts, but unlike you, i didn't have the courage to speak up and instead never returned to the salon. kudos to you! :)
ReplyDeleteHello lovely lady! Yes I decided it was time to speak up. Usually I would just go home un-happy or get someone else to fix it. very excited for my new doo tonight!
