So daylight savings happened last night which meant an early start to get to Melbourne. The show was quiet enough and we were able for some quality browsing time without the crowds which was lovely. I saw some amazing clothes and accessories, sat through a talk on Go Go dancing and tassel twirling and saw a velour bikini(special) and I managed not to buy anything.
My two favourite vintage stalls were: Jack's Daughter and Brooke Orchard Photography
Jack's Daughter is a shop selling vintage reproduction and vintage inspired clothes. Jenni Porter hand makes all the items and can create custom clothing to order. Unfortunately I was so distracted by all the wonderful clothes in her stand I didn't get to take a photo of her stuff to show you. You will just have to visit her etsy store for yourself. The etsy store really does not do her any justice as her pieces are amazing! If you do not see a fabric or design that you like just ask her! I will be getting a custom pair of high waisted sailor pants made to order the first day my no spend month is over. I CAN'T WAIT!
Brooke Orchard Photography is an AMAZING photographer specialising in vintage pin-up photography amongst many other styles in her portfolio. Brooke had some fantastic shots on show and had a little booth set-up where she was taking some pin-up shots at the show. I awkwardly posed for a shot....so we will see if I feel like sharing the finished product when I get it. Brooke organises the entire make-over for the pin-up shoots. For $490 you get your hair and make-up and 3 outfits all organised for you and then the photo-shoot.(SOOOOO TEMPTING!)
Good job us, not buying anything! Although I dreamt about that flamingo dress...
